Tijana Kovacevic was born in Belgrade, on December, 4th 1973.
She finished Secondary Music School ‘’Josip Slavenski’’, theoretical department in 1990.
In 1995 she graduated from the FMU, Belgrade Music Academy, department for conducting in Prof. Jovan Sajnovic’ class.
In 1996 she specialized orchestral and opera conducting at the Music Academy in Prague.

From 1996 to 2004 she was an assistant conductor with choirs Abrasevic and Lola and she performed on numerous concerts and festivals in the country and abroad.
Since 2004 she has been working as a conductor of a Church Choir St. Dimitrije which won a prize in out - singing during the Days of Mokranjac in Negotin.

Since 1998 she has been employed as a  choir and orchestra conductor and as a teacher of conducing and other theoretical subjects in Music School Josip Slavenski. She has had numerous  performances with these ensembles.
On the Serbian Republic Competition in 2002 she won first prize in the women’s chamber choir category, and in 2005 she won first prize in the string chamber orchestra category.
Within the projects of the Society of Music Schools of Serbia she performed in:

2004 in Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana, under the dirction of Bojan Sudjic

2006 in W.A. Mozart’s Requiem, under the direction of Darinka Matic – Marovic

2006 she took part as an assistant conductor in Stevan Mokranjac’s Liturgy of St. Jovan Zlatousti  also under the direction of Darinka Matic – Marovic

As a part of the celebration of 250th anniversary of the birth of W.A. Mozart she directed the ensemble –‘’Acrobat’’ from Salzburg which performed a music stage spectacle ‘’Mozart Luster Lustik’’ by Irena Popovic. She also directed ensembles which were performing contemporary music of our native composers (S. Sepic, D. Jovanovic, I. Popovic, K. Babic etc.)
In 2008 on the Serbian Republic Competition she won first prize, scoring 100 points in the category of great mixed choir, and gained the title of Laureate of the competition.
At the Ohrid Choral Festival (August 22 – 26 2008) with ‘’Slavenski Choir’’ she won a special prize for a high professional standard of choral performance.
She is a post graduate student in Prof. Darinka Matic – Marovic class at the Academy of Art in Banja Luka.

In 1978 the women’s choir was awarded first prize by JRT (Yugoslav Radio Television) and a cup by the Society of Yugoslav Music Schools for the best studio recording of a competition organised by the BBC entitled ’’Let The Nations Sing’’ which was broadcast by Radio London.

In 1978 on the 50th anniversary of its foundation, the choir under the direction of Prof. Lambra Dimitrijevic, gave perfomance in Erbach, Gemany which received very positive reviews from the German Press.

The Choir was stimulated by the appointment of Prof. Tijana Kovačević to continue its traditional success by wining first prize in the National State Competition in 2001.

In 2003 under the direction of Bojan Sudjic and with soloists from Sweden, the Choir performed Carmina Burana in the Great Hall of the Sava Centre.

In 2003 the Choir took part in two great productions. The first, to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of W.A. Mozart, was a performance of his Requiem in the Sava Centre under the direction of Prof. Darinka Matic - Marovic. The second was a performance of the Liturgy of a St. Jovan Zlatousti at the Kolarac Memorial Hall to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Stevan Stojanovic Mokranjac.

In April 2008 the Josip Slavenski Music School Choir won first prize in the Serbian Republic Competition scoring 100 points and thus gaining the title of Laureate and officially gaining recognition as the best choir in the country in its category.
