The Slavenski  School Choir has existed since the foundation of the Slavenski Music School in 1937 when the school was a part of the Belgrade music Academy.

Since its foundation many people who are now well known both in the music and the public sectors have studied at the Slavenski Music school, where they contributed the work of the choir.

In 1964 Professor Lambra Dimitrijević, whose name is associated with the golden age of the concert performances and competitions of the school choir, started to work at the school. In the following years the Choir won first prizes in seventeen republic and state competitions for mixed choirs in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugolsavia.
